Chicago’s Downtown Real Estate Softball League “DRESL” celebrated its 11th Winter Classic on February 4, playing three games in the Lincoln Park athletic fields on North Avenue. The event celebrated the 45th year of DRESL, which consists of 14 teams from Chicago’s premier corporate commercial real estate companies.
Participants included 35 commercial real estate industry professionals how braved the 10 degree weather and two feet of snow to play 16-inch softball without gloves. The event was organized by Richie Klein of Dream Town Realty Corporate Strategies Group, Lee Golub of Golub & Co and John Gaines of Newmark Knight Frank.
The afterparty at 680 N. Lake Shore Drive included a DRESL Hall of Fame induction ceremony for long-time players John “Soup” Campbell of Prime Electric Co., William Rolander of Newmark Knight Frank, Sam Stilp of Highland Ventures, John Ziesmer of Avison Young and John Kinsella of Cushman & Wakefield. The Winter Classic was a testament to the grit that the Chicago commercial real estate community has shown during the past two years.
