Glassdoor opened its newly built Chicago office in the Fulton Market neighborhood, according to an announcement from the mayor’s office and the company. In less than two years, the company’s Chicago office has become its second largest with about 200 employees.

Glassdoor is one the world’s fastest and largest growing job websites, and its new 52,000-square-foot office will be in a neighborhood that is also rapidly growing. The company’s new space, located at 1330 W. Fulton St. will be focused primarily on sales-related functions. It also has the capability to expand even further and hold 400 employees.

“We selected Chicago because of its Midwest location, its vibrant community, and incredible talent pool and we have been pleased with our decision. Our new office has beautiful modern workspaces and expansive views of Chicago’s skyline … and we’re hiring!” Robert Hohman, Glassdoor CEO and co-founder said in a statement.

The company announced its decision to choose Chicago for its expansion in late 2015 and opened a temporary office in February 2016, according to the mayor’s office. Glassdoor’s new office, in a building managed by Sterling Bay, was designed and construction by Valerio Dewalt Train Associates and Skender Construction.

The Glassdoor office design represents Chicago and reflects in its environment a culture of commitment and empowerment, Joseph Valerio, principal of Valerio Dewalt Train Associates and lead architect for the space said in a statement.

Throughout the office there is custom, Chicago-centric art and conference rooms are named after Chicago neighborhoods iconic symbols such as Lake View, Boystown, Sears Tower and Ferris Bueller. The unique graphics and art throughout the office were developed in collaboration with Glassdoor’s own brand design team and media Objectives, a design studio within Valerio Dewalt Train Associates.

The entire office was designed to incorporate as much natural light as possible. Renderings reveal sunlight floating through kitchen areas and other communal spaces. The office has two outdoor patios on the sixth floor as well as an outdoor courtyard on the ground level. Keeping things environmentally friendly was a huge concern for the teams as well. The latest tech featured throughout the office includes best-in-class video conferencing, iPad room scheduling, acoustically0optimized phone booths, ergonomic workstations, smart elevators featuring buttonless transport and even an IT vending machine where employees can access chargers and other necessities.

Glassdoor is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area and employs more than 750 people around the world. Offices are located in Chicago, Illinois; Mill Valley, California; San Francisco, California; Canton, Ohio; Dublin, Ireland; and London, England.
