Transwestern has negotiated a long-term, 32,295-square-foot lease for APICS The Association for Operations Management, to extend the association’s headquarters office lease at U.S. Cellular Plaza, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr in Chicago’s O’Hare submarket.

“The lease extension represents a much-needed boost to the O’Hare office market where direct vacancy remains high at 25.7 percent,” said Tony Karmin, executive vice president at Transwestern and lead representation for APICS in the lease negotiations. “U.S. Cellular Plaza continues to represent an ideal location for APICS because of its efficient floor plates, amenities, access to public transportation and building naming rights.”

After moving its headquarters to Chicago in 2008 from Alexandria, Va., APICS continues to grow its network of international affiliates. The 55-year-old global supply chain and operations management association currently employs 75 people in Chicago.

“Chicago is a strong international destination. Its role as a strategic transportation access point makes it a consistent center for activity in the supply chain and operations management arena,” said Abe Eshkenazi, APICS chief executive officer.

U.S. Cellular Plaza is a Class A, 640,000-square-foot office building that is approximately 82 percent leased. It features an atrium, conference facility, convenience store, food court, mail room, on-site management and free surface parking.

Jason Simon and Francis Prock of Colliers International represented Charlotte, N.C.-based asset manager Faison & Associates LLC. Tony Karmin of Transwestern worked on behalf of the tenant (APICS).
