Gold + Oak, the lifestyle, retail merchandising and design division of Mount Prospect, Illinois-based Nicholas Family of Companies (NFOC), acquired Goo Goo Gaa Gaa, an independent children’s boutique in Brookfield, Wisconsin, a western suburb of Milwaukee.

Located in Sendik’s Towne Centre at 18905 W. Capitol Drive, Goo Goo Gaa Gaa specializes in children’s gifts; toys; clothing, including special occasion apparel; baby and nursery accessories; and child space decor.

Since opening in 2004 under the ownership of Ginny and Tom Gerczak, the boutique has become a destination for families with its reputation extending well beyond the Milwaukee area. A 2019 retailer spotlight, by toy manufacturer Baby Jack & Company, described customers traveling from across southeastern Wisconsin to shop for baby showers, birthdays, baptisms and other special occasions at the Brookfield store.

Goo Goo Gaa Gaa also earned recognition as Milwaukee’s Best Children’s Storefront through Milwaukee A-List, a city-wide online voter contest recognizing local businesses.
