Ryan Companies US, Inc. has announced Trevor Sheldon as the senior project manager in the Chicago (Naperville) office of its Great Lakes Region, a move that will help Ryan manage its ongoing growth as the commercial real estate market further expands across virtually all sectors. The announcement was made by Bob Goodpaster, Chief Operations Officer of Ryan’s Great Lakes Region, which includes the Chicago operations.
Sheldon brings more than 25 years of construction management experience to Ryan Companies, all from Chicago-based James McHugh Construction Company. During his tenure at McHugh, he worked on projects mostly in the Chicago area but for a period of more than five years, he worked in the firm’s Moscow office to set up purchasing and logistics operations and manage construction projects in Russia.
As a senior project manager, Sheldon’s responsibilities include: overseeing design development; budget preparation and project scheduling; supervising construction project teams; and leading the development and execution of a procurement strategy including preparing bid documents as well as negotiating and awarding subcontracts, among other responsibilities.
According to Sheldon, three of his past projects that best showcase his creative thinking and problem solving abilities are: Hubbard Place, a 44-story, 691,000-square-foot mixed-use development that includes 450 apartments; Salem Baptist Community Center, a 125,000-square-foot community center; American Airlines G Concourse at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, at 850,000-square-foot renovation of a 40-year-old airport concourse.
Sheldon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Western Illinois University.
