Grand Rapids, Michigan-based DAR Development, Inc. has changed its name to DAR Commercial Real Estate. The name change reflects the company’s commitment to the commercial real estate brokerage industry and communicates more clearly the services offered by the firm.
“Commercial real estate is an ever-changing and evolving business, and the new name allows us to better emphasize our core business objective by creating branding that clearly states who we are and what we do,” said Dave Denton, Vice President of Real Estate Brokerage at DAR Commercial Real Estate. “Using the term ‘Development’ in our name created a misperception in the market that we work exclusively on development or just our own buildings or projects. That’s just not the case.”
Founded by Darrel Herweyer in 1996, DAR Commercial Real Estate has served the commercial real estate needs of West Michigan for nearly 25 years.
“We are a truly independent, full-service commercial real estate brokerage company,” said Herweyer. “We have a singular focus on the purchase, sale or lease of all types of commercial properties for our clients.”
While the name of the organization is changing, the team and the services will remain consistent. DAR has deep roots in West Michigan commercial real estate, and its experienced team will continue to provide a full range of brokerage services.
“What is not changing is the dedication and level of service that we provide to our clients from local companies to national tenants and landlords,” said Herweyer. “That will always be our constant.”
The new name is effective immediately and will be implemented across the company’s marketing collateral throughout 2020.
