GREA (Global Real Estate Advisors) represented the owner in closing a multifamily portfolio totaling 207-apartment homes in Freeport/Rockford, Illinois. The sale was negotiated by Managing Directors Bill Montana and Chris Sackley of Chicago-based GREA and comes on the heels of the 582-apartment Rockford portfolio Bill and Chris sold in 2021.
The Freeport/Rockford portfolio is comprised of a diverse range of apartment home types in five separate apartment communities. Constructed between 1966 and 2009, the composition of the apartment types and buildings included ranch-style and multistory direct access townhomes as well as traditional garden-style buildings with one, two and three-bedroom apartment homes. The value-add opportunity was purchased by a Chicago-based investor.
