SOLVD Health, a life sciences company specializing in data-driven disease prevention, is relocating its corporate headquarters to Chicago from Carlsbad, California. Their new corporate headquarters will be located in Sterling Bay’s 2430 N. Halsted, the firm’s life sciences research facility located in Lincoln Park.

SOLVD Health focuses on healthcare’s biggest challenges by developing novel technologies that identify an individual’s risk of disease before they become ill. The company is currently in the process of commercializing two tests, one for opioid use disorder and one for colon cancer. Both have been granted Breakthrough Device designations by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). As research and development continues and the company grows its footprint, SOLVD Health intends to expand future operations to Sterling Bay’s Lincoln Yards development along the Chicago River.

Attracting life sciences companies to Illinois is also a priority of Governor JB Pritzker, who last year alongside Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), named the life sciences industry one of the key pillars in the state’s five-year economic development plan.

In addition to creating new opportunities for increased economic development, the growing life sciences sector brings a surge of scientific innovation to the state and city. Startups like SOLVD Health that are actively pursuing health solutions to prevent national health crises, like the opioid epidemic, are making groundbreaking technological discoveries every day, drawing the attention of the scientific community and top academic talent.

SOLVD Health expects to begin corporate operations in Chicago while continuing to operate its manufacturing, research and development, and commercial lab facilities in Carlsbad, California. Sterling Bay is a related entity to SOLVD Health.
