At the May luncheon, held at The East Bank Club, CREW Chicago hosted an impressive panel moderated by CREW Chicago member and environmental consultant Helen Kessler, President of HJ Kessler Associates, Inc. Panel participants included Evan Caprile, LEED Green Associate, GACP, High Performance Project Engineer at Pepper Construction; Mary Basel Christopher, Account Executive, Higher Education & Healthcare at Haworth, Inc. and Keara Fanning, Central Region Sustainability Practice Lead at JLL.
The panel discussed why it is so important for real estate professionals in every market to put their best efforts, resources and time into developing, financing, marketing, renting and selling commercial properties that embody wellness and sustainability. Ecological consciousness in design and construction of these properties is key to health, well-being and job satisfaction for occupants, as well as productivity and employee maintenance for leaseholders.
