Henry Bros. Co. (HBCo) has broken ground at The Kensington Senior Residences at Randhurst. Construction is well underway on this three-story, 68,700-square-foot development in Mount Prospect, Illinois for residents 55 and older.
Kensington’s exterior will be a combination of “Hardie-Plank” siding and masonry, and the roof will feature “Hardie Shake” shingles. The building will have 63 one-bedroom and 11 two-bedroom units with varying floor plans, each with its own kitchen and climate control system. Other features will include a community room, game room, arts and crafts room, library, computer room, TV lounges, theatre room, dining area and a covered outdoor deck with grill area. A decorative wood fence will surround the property along with sidewalks and landscaping. Ample lighting will enhance safety and security for residents.
As is customary with its affordable housing projects, funded in part with IHDA tax credits, HBCo was involved early on providing preconstruction services for the owner, The Perlmark Housing Group, and FitzGerald Associates Architects. HBCo also provided essential construction-related documentation for the owner and its respective capital sources as part of the financing process.
The Kensington Senior Residences at Randhurst, located at 401 Kensington Road in Mount Prospect, is expected to be completed in the summer of 2021.
