Hiffman names two shareholders, makes new appointments

Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois-based NAI Hiffman and Hiffman National, the firm’s property management and advisory services division, appointed four individuals, including two executives, one new hire and one returning team member.

Brian Edgerton and Carrie Szarzynski have been named the newest shareholders, with Edgerton promoted from senior vice president to executive vice president and Szarzynski advancing from senior managing director to executive managing director – head of management services. Additionally, Denes Juhasz returns to Hiffman as research director, while Joshua Reuter joins as associate director for workplace solutions.

Edgerton, recently named executive vice president and shareholder, has been with NAI Hiffman since 2001, when the firm acquired Scribcor Real Estate Services, then a boutique property management company with about 10 brokers. Throughout his career, he has completed more than 700 transactions totaling over 3.5 million square feet of office space, advising a wide range of occupiers and investors on site selection, acquisitions and dispositions, financial analysis, investment strategy and transaction negotiation. He is currently a member of NAI Hiffman’s Medical Services Team.

Szarzynski, who joined Hiffman in 2017, has been promoted and named a shareholder in recognition of her leadership in expanding the Management Services Group. Her efforts have significantly advanced Hiffman National’s growth in target markets across the country, allowing owners of industrial, office, healthcare and retail real estate to benefit from the firm’s hands-on service and tech-forward platform wherever they do business.

Juhasz is returning to Hiffman as research director, having previously served as a senior research analyst at the firm. Since then, he has held roles at CBRE and CoStar. In this new role, he will lead the Commercial Real Estate Research Services Team, delivering actionable insights on commercial real estate trends and enabling data-driven strategies across the brokerage, advisory, management and marketing teams. He holds a B.S. in business from Purdue University.

As the new associate director for workplace solutions, Reuter will support the continued growth of Hiffman’s Workplace Solutions Team, part of a comprehensive suite of services offered to clients by Hiffman National. Reuter has nearly two decades of experience working at architectural firms, including roles at Shive-Hattery, Ware Malcomb, CannonDesign, Partners by Design and Rafael Viñoly Architects. He earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Norwich University.
