Hilliker Corporation recently represented the seller in a transaction that will bring a local brewery to the trendy Grove area of St. Louis.
Green Street Properties purchased the future home of the brewery for $1.85 million from the Renard Family, which was represented by Hilliker Corporation agent Peter Newton.
Green Street St. Louis is a Clayton, Mo.-based company that develops sustainable buildings and specializes in LEED-certified facilities. Urban Chestnut Brewing Company will rent the space from Green Street. The UCBC brewing and bottling facility will feature a tasting room and ongoing tours in what will become the brewery’s 75,000-square-foot second location.
The building, located at 4465 Manchester Ave., was originally built in 1947. The Renard family bought the property in 1977, making additions in 1986 and 1990. The space served as a warehouse and distribution center for the Renard Paper Company, which distributed industrial and commercial cleaning products and equipment. The business merged in 2011 with Indianapolis-based HP Products Corp., which specialized in sanitary maintenance, packaging and lighting. The building was vacant at the time of sale.
UCBC is owned by partners Florian Kuplent and David Wolfe. Their company features a “new world meets old world” brewing approach and creates classically-crafted, timeless European beers.
