Hoffman Estates has hired a new economic development specialist. Mary Oshana, who previously worked as the assistant general manager at Westfield Old Orchard, will assist with the economic development program for the northwest suburb. Oshana will take a proactive role in analyzing trends and economic markets, developing strong working relationships with key industry leaders, as well as conducting prospect presentations and tours. She will also assist in connecting the Village of Hoffman Estates with the real estate development, brokerage, and business community.
Oshana previously worked to improve the Old Orchard Shopping Center and before that as director of operations for Stages Construction. She will now work with Hoffman Estates’ director of economic development, Kevin Kramer, on business attraction, business retention, communications and outreach, workforce development, small business development, foreign direct investment, and other economic development projects.
She also has worked for Walgreens as a project manager, pioneer acquisitions working to build and manage multi-family projects, and the Northside Workforce Center as a program manager. She is a Skokie Park District Board Commissioner with volunteer experience working at the Skokie Chamber of Commerce.
