West Des Moines, Iowa-based Hubbell Homes is starting construction on its next downtown Des Moines venture, the Capitol View Brownstones.
Three of the nine homes have been pre- sold and the six remaining start at around $204,000. The brownstones, located on Second Avenue in downtown Des Moines, are the third and final phase of Hubbell’s Brownstones community, which also includes the Brownstones on Grand and the Riverwalk Brownstones.
The first five homes will be complete in February of 2012, while the remaining four will be finished later in the spring.
“The 16 Riverwalk Brownstones were all pre-sold before construction was completed this year, and since there are an even more limited number of Capitol View Brownstones available, I see that same trend happening again here,” says Hubbell Realty Company president and chief operating officer Rick Tollakson. “We did our research after the first two phases and really honed in on what our clients want”.
The Capitol View Brownstones are all three-bedroom, three-bath homes with two-car garages. Homes have views of the Capitol Building and the Des Moines River. The community has an open green space and a rooftop garden for the homeowners.
