Kansas City-based Hunt Midwest has expanded to the Louisville industrial market with the development of Blankenbaker Logistics Center, a new speculative industrial building in Blankenbaker Station, a Class-A mixed-use business park in eastern Jefferson County, Kentucy.
Located just south of I-64 and west of I-265, Blankenbaker Logistics Center will be adjacent to the local FedEx Ground terminal and minutes from UPS Worldport, downtown Louisville and Ford’s Kentucky Truck and Louisville Assembly Plants.
Blankenbaker Logistics Center will occupy a 20-acre site at 13007 Rehl Rd. and include 322,831 square feet of leasable space, 187 surface parking stalls, 44 tractor trailer parking stalls and a 140-foot deep truck court. Building features will include 32 dock positions in a cross-dock configuration with 36-foot clear height, four drive-in doors, mechanical dock equipment, seven inch concrete slab flooring, ESFR sprinkler system, and motion sensor LED lighting. Completion of Blankenbaker Logistics Center is scheduled for December 2020.
Hunt Midwest brings to the Louisville market an extensive background in industrial development that spans more than 50 years. The company’s industrial portfolio includes more than 2,500 acres of land development and more than 7.4 million square feet of leased buildings.
Hunt Midwest has selected Mindel Scott for civil engineering, H2B Architects for building design, and Summit Construction as general contractor overseeing construction of Blankenbaker Logistics Center. Kevin Grove of CBRE in Louisville will represent Hunt Midwest in the lease-up of the facility.
