IIDA is proud to announce the winners of the 2021 IIDA/HD Expo Product Design Awards. The prestigious competition honored eight categories including Aesthetics, Cost and Value, Design Innovation, Environmental Responsibility, Need, Technical Advancements, and Usage. Entries were judged virtually this year by a panel of leading design professionals.
“Our ability to conceive, plan, and create products that support high performance emphasizes design’s significance in building humility and unification in the hospitality industry,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. “The winners of this year’s competition demonstrate prudence in the face of the rapidly changing needs of the hospitality industry. Their products are timely, sustainable, and most importantly, human-centered.”
Entries were judged by a jury of design professionals, including Mari Ansera, IIDA, ASID, Senior Associate, HGA Architects and Engineers; Mike Johnson II, IIDA, Senior Associate Perkins&Will; and Alexis Moore, IIDA, Healthcare Designer, Gresham Smith.
“We were amazed by the outstanding selection of cutting-edge and user-intuitive products presented during this year’s competition,” said Johnson on behalf of the jury. “The winners showcased how prioritizing innovation allows us to adapt, sustain, and grow for our future.”
