Willis Tower announced an extension and expansion of IMC, a global technology-driven market maker with offices in Amsterdam, Chicago, Sydney, and Mumbai. IMC expanded its office square footage by 50% along with a renewed commitment to the building for ten years by signing a lease for approximately 160,000 rentable square feet.
The long-term commitment from IMC illustrates the success Willis Tower is seeing as a result of its recent repositioning. Operated by EQ Office, a Blackstone portfolio company, the $500-million transformation efforts created 150,000 square feet of tenant-exclusive amenities throughout the building, including cafes and bars, a fitness center, lounge areas, and conference spaces. In addition, a new structure at the base of the building known as Catalog contains 300,000 square feet of retail, restaurants, and entertainment, along with a 30,000-square-foot outdoor terrace.
The 110-story skyscraper provides inviting hospitality and memorable experiences on an unmatched scale. The recent modernization allows Willis Tower to meet the challenges and opportunities of today’s workplace by blurring the border between work and life and fostering an atmosphere for collaboration and innovation – appealing to tenants of all sizes and industries.
Matt Carolan and Phil Geiger with JLL represented IMC in the deal. Jamey Dix, Nikki Kern, and Caroline Colnon with The Telos Group, LLC represented EQ Office.
