Buckingham Companies and the University of Evansville on March 18 held a ground-breaking ceremony in Evansville, Ind., for six townhouse apartments that will provide on-campus housing for about 150 upperclassmen at the university.
Buckingham Companies, an Indianapolis-based developer, will coordinate the construction and design phase of the $8.5 million project.
The new townhouses are part of the University of Evansville’s facilities master plan that was announced in March of 2012.
Two townhouse buildings will make up the Frederick Commons and four will make up the Walnut Commons. Half of the townhouses will be ready for move-in in August of this year. The others will follow in October of 2013 and January of 2014.
