Indianapolis-based Schmidt Associates, a regional architectural, engineering, and interior design firm specializing in K-12, higher education, community and healthcare spaces, has hired Julie Kost as marketing manager | associate.
A graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University, Kost began her career in student loan servicing as a manager of marketing services for Sallie Mae/USA Funds (now known as Strada Education Network).
For the last 13-plus years, Kost served as head of marketing services for American Structurepoint where she provided leadership to the marketing services group. She was responsible for overseeing the planning, development and execution of the firm’s proposals, marketing, public relations, communications and advertising programs.
During her tenure at American Structurepoint, Kost and her team increased brand awareness throughout the Midwest. As marketing manager | associate for Schmidt Associates, Kost will be tasked with leading a marketing department responsible for public relations, social media, graphic and web design, proposal development and industry relations.
Outside of her work, Kost serves as the president of the Indiana Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services, a community of marketing and business development professionals working to secure profitable business relationships for their architectural, engineering and construction companies. In this position, she oversees a team of 10 volunteers who make up the organization’s board of directors.
