Michael Collins, former president and chief executive officer at PortKC, advisor to U.S. Sen. Christopher Bond and managing director for JE Dunn Capital Partners, has launched Grayson Capital, a commercial real estate investment, development and advisory company in Kansas City, Missouri.
“Since the pandemic, I’ve had a chance to take a step back and realize what really matters to me is delivering what’s best for urban communities, and we’re uniquely positioned to help,” Collins said.
As a for-profit, minority-owned real estate development firm, Grayson Capital will bring a new option for real estate development in urban areas of Kansas City. Andrea Young, formerly an attorney in the real estate and finance practice at Polsinelli, is the first executive hire of Grayson Capital.
During the past two decades, Collins and Young have led more than $3 billion of urban development and infrastructure projects, from the initial master-planning of the Berkley Riverfront Park redevelopment to managing a real estate private equity portfolio.
The team has several potential projects in its pipeline. Grayson Capital will slowly grow its roster over time.
