Inland Real Estate Acquisitions, LLC negotiated and closed the purchase of an 859-unit, Class-A self-storage facility in Joliet, Illinois, located 40 miles southwest of Chicago.
Mark Cosenza, senior vice president of Inland Acquisitions, with assistance from Brett Smith, VP and senior counsel of The Inland Real Estate Group, LLC, Law Department, completed the transaction on behalf of an Inland affiliate.
Previously an ExtraSpace Self Storage property, the facility will be rebranded and fully managed by Devon Self Storage (“Devon”), a member of The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc.
Located at 2100 Essington Road, the two-story, 112,209-rentable-square-foot facility was constructed in 2023. The main climate-controlled building is comprised of 764 units and 95 exterior drive-thru units, of which 13 are oversized for RV/boat/large vehicle storage. The property also features wide access driveways, elevator access, contactless in-store and online rentals and 24-hour video surveillance with controlled access.
