Healthcare real estate company Innovcare is developing a $5 million community-focused primary care facility in Indianapolis. The new project is in collaboration with Indianapolis Public Schools and American Health Network, part of Optum Health.
The new clinic will be located at 4405 Allisonville Road and deliver high-quality healthcare to a community that faces a significant burden of health and wellness disparities. This includes providing primary care to IPS teachers and employees at no cost while also serving as a hub for primary care for the area’s large senior community.
This latest project from Innovcare is part of a decade-long effort to redevelop the abandoned Keystone Towers in Indianapolis, which was constructed in the 1970s and demolished in 2011. The project began in spring 2012 as part of a revitalization effort of the city’s Northeast side. The city of Indianapolis has worked collaboratively on this project with TWG, a local real estate development company that specializes in commercial, market rate, affordable, and senior housing developments.
The first phase featured the construction of The Point on Fall Creek Apartments, a $8.2 million affordable housing project that opened in September 2013 and included a mix of 59 one-and two-bedroom units. Phase two launched shortly after with the development of Fall Creek View, a $8.7 million apartment building that provides affordable housing options to people, including those formerly homeless. Both projects were developed by TWG and Innovcare is an affiliate of TWG.
The development of the new medical facility from Innovcare will complete the third and final phase of revitalization of the Keystone Towers site. Construction began this summer with its opening planned for the fall. Once open to the public, it will be American Health Network’s first clinic inside the Indianapolis beltway.
