The International Masonry Institute (IMI) brought its Build It Better Commercial Construction Forum series to Chicago this fall.
Leaders in development, design, and construction discussed the future of the city’s commercial building projects at the event, held in September at the newly opened Obama Presidential Center.
The design and construction teams that worked on the Center explained how teamwork brought the complex structure to life. Its 8-story stone-clad Museum Tower is regarded as one of the most unusual examples of stone construction in modern architecture. `
The team behind the new Chicago Fire stadium also spoke about the planning and coordination that went into the building located in The 78, Chicago’s mixed-use riverfront development.
