Interra Realty has closed more middle-market multifamily transactions – defined as sales between $1 million and $85 million – than any other brokerage in the five-county Chicago metro area at midyear, according to data from CoStar Group.
Interra was both the top buyer broker and seller broker during the period, per CoStar. As buyer broker, Interra closed $250 million in sales, more than three times the total for the No. 2-ranked firm, which had $80 million in sales. As seller broker, Interra posted $180 million in sales, compared with nearly $120 million for the second-ranking firm in this category.
Halfway through the year, Interra has already surpassed its total transaction volume for all of 2021, when it closed a record $382 million in transactions, up from $270 million in 2020 and $200 million in 2019. As Chicago’s No. 1 middle-market brokerage, Interra now handles almost 1 in 5 sales of apartment buildings up to 100 units, per CoStar.
