Hubbell Realty Company will provide larger, more accessible cabins for campers at the Easter Seals’ Camp Sunnyside thanks to the third “extreme” project taken on by West Des Moines, Iowa-based Hubbell Realty Company.
As part of the project, several companies, trade partners, volunteers and associates will tear down and rebuild Camp Sunnyside’s cabins, working around the clock for seven days to do it.
Hubbell will build two 7,584-square-foot cabins to replace the camp’s outdated facilities. The cabins at the camp were first built by volunteers in the 1960s, and have been used for year-round programming for more than 50 years. Shower facilities adn storm shelters are located in detached buildings.
The new cabins will feature sleeping accommodations for 45 campters and 15 staff members per cabin. Each cabin will also have bathroom and shower facilities, in addition to a secure storm shelter.
