St. Anthony Regional Hospital recently completed renovations on the hospital’s dialysis and obstetrics departments at its campus in Carroll, Iowa.
The Birth Place at St. Anthony Regional Hospital is designated as a Centers of Excellence by Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds. St. Anthony was among two recipients of a $1.5 million grant designed for Centers of Excellence in rural Iowa. St. Anthony was selected to receive funding over a three-year period to finance initiatives to ensure mothers and their babies receive high-quality and accessible health care.
In addition to the much-needed improvements to the OB department, the dialysis clinic has been improved to meet St. Anthony’s high standards for patient care. After 20 years on the hospital’s fourth floor, the clinic is now on the first floor, where patients can access services with greater ease. Wayfinding and navigation are improved with direct connection from the main entry, and the refreshed interior features elements found in nature, designed to create a calming environment for both patients and staff.
The project’s design was led by Wold Architects and Engineers, a Saint Paul, Minn.-based architectural and engineering firm with extensive healthcare design expertise. Graham Construction served as construction manager for the project.
