Irongate Management, LLC, a leading manager of multifamily properties throughout the U.S., today announced that it was named the 2014 National Management Company of the Year by the Apartment Association of Kansas City (AAKC). Presented by Robbyn Haddock, the chairman of the association’s board of directors, the honor was bestowed during AAKC’s annual Installation of Officers and Awards Banquet.

“Along with our focused commitment to the service of our tenants, we also pride ourselves on our membership and involvement in the AAKC and its important activities,” said Nia M. Walters, a member of Irongate’s management team and new inductee into the AAKC board of directors. “The relationship we have developed with the organization is extremely beneficial to our business.”

In October, the Villas at Carrington Square, an Irongate property in suburban Kansas City, was honored by the City of Overland Park with the city’s annual “Excellence in Landscaping Award,” a testament to Irongate’s commitment to area beautification through landscaping and other efforts.

These awards speak to the valued position that Irongate Management has attained in the Kansas City apartment community. A leading national manager of luxury multifamily properties, Irongate recently expanded its regional presence with the $100-million purchase of an 846-unit portfolio totaling 950,000 square feet.

“It’s always wonderful to see our leading multifamily property managers show such commitment to the organization,” said AAKC Association Executive Debbie Haukenberry. “The Irongate team has contributed significantly to the AAKC through committee involvement and meeting participation, and has taken leadership positions in many of our educational initiatives. We are very fortunate to have such loyal members, and it’s abundantly clear that they have merited this award.”

Founded in 1974, the Apartment Association of Kansas City is a leading, regional multifamily industry organization, representing 704 members and 64,984 units. In addition to educational initiatives, it is involved in various promotional and legislative activities.
