Irvine Company hires Emily Kream as director of construction for its Chicago portfolio

Irvine Company Office Properties announced the appointment of Emily Kream as director of construction for its Chicago portfolio, which includes A+ trophy skyscrapers One North Wacker, 300 North LaSalle and 71 South Wacker.

Kream came from the Chicago project management team of Tishman Speyer. At Irvine Company, she will be responsible for all aspects of construction and design management, with a particular focus on bolstering the customer experience. Kream joins a committed local in-house Chicago team of industry and regional experts, including senior leasing director Gregory Tait, regional vice president of portfolio operations Pamela Van Nort and Beau Rawi, the company’s regional vice president.

“I’m a Chicago native and am very familiar with this city and with the evolving tastes and needs of this market,” said Kream. “We have an incredible opportunity to reimagine and reposition 71 South Wacker and I’m looking forward to being a part of Irvine Company, a company that has defined and continually innovates the workplace experience.”

Kream will carry out continual reinvestment across the Chicago portfolio, especially with 71 South Wacker. She will serve as an in-house resource for customers to help them determine their design/space needs and shepherd them through the process. Her expertise and service present an offering that benefits customers and differentiates Irvine Company from its competitors.

Holding a bachelor of science degree in architectural studies and a master of architecture from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Emily started her career designing high rises and commercial office spaces. She is well-versed in the changing dynamics of design in Class A towers and other trends in the marketplace.

Irvine Company entered the Chicago market in 2010, when it acquired the 48-story, 1.5-million square foot 71 South Wacker. The tower’s elegant elliptical design offers expansive views and houses prestigious customers in hospitality, legal, financial services and technology, including Goldman Sachs, IBM and the law firm of Mayer Brown LLP.

The 60-story 300 North LaSalle overlooking the Chicago River, was acquired by the Irvine Company in 2014. Its ideal setting provides access to the River North neighborhood, including the finest restaurants, shops and entertainment. Current customers include Kirkland & Ellis, Chicago’s biggest law firm, and management consulting firm Boston Consulting Group.

One North Wacker, UBS Tower is situated in the heart of the Loop. Its iconic architecture, coupled with modern stainless steel and glass design, make it one of the most prestigious locations in downtown Chicago.
