IWG, plc, a provider of flexible workspaces, opened its first Spaces Cleveland location, providing nearly 27,000 square feet of innovative office space in the historic Warehouse District in Cleveland, Ohio.
The location has 48 offices and three meeting rooms.
Located in the Western Reserve Building, the new Spaces Warehouse District is located in one of Cleveland’s most desirable areas and is home to a range of businesses, fine dining options and vibrant nightlife. The eight-story building space combines old-world charm with a modern twist and provides workers with access to a fitness center and close proximity to walking trails with views along the Cuyahoga River.
The center has opened its doors as demand for IWG’s flexible workspaces in the US has surged ahead of the previous peak in Summer 2019, and the group has seen sequential growth in occupancy since April 2021. While the shifting real estate landscape has left many vacancies, IWG is using the opportunity to expand offerings in cities like Cleveland and beyond. In 2021 alone, the organization added 2 million new customers globally, reflecting the largest proportion in the firm’s 30-year history.
The opening of Spaces Warehouse District in Cleveland is set to tap into the trend towards local and hyper-local working. As a company, IWG has witnessed a significant shift towards businesses and employees increasingly seeking to reduce their commute and work closer to home, with only one in five people willing to commute more than 30 minutes daily.
