J.C. Anderson has completed 53,111 square feet in phased office renovations for ReaderLink at The Crossings in Oak Brook, Illinois.
Located at 1420 Kensington Road, office renovations and updates completed by J.C. Anderson included the addition of private offices, open office cubicles, coffee stations, private restrooms, conference rooms and a “townhall” meeting space.
“The biggest challenge of the project was the schedule,” said J.C. Anderson project manager, Kayla McKinney. “Completing phased renovations in an occupied space requires experience in effective time management and open communication with all parties involved. Fortunately, our teams are well versed in this type of project and with the collaboration and responsiveness from the ReaderLink project team we were able to complete the work on-time with little interruption to the client’s operations.”
ReaderLink is the largest full-service distributor of hardcover, trade and paperback books to non-trade channel booksellers in North America, including the biggest names in retail across multiple retail channels. The firm hired J.C. Anderson to expand and update their existing offices at The Crossings. Project executive John Angelovich, project manager McKinney and superintendent Bill Dennison led the project team for J.C. Anderson with architectural services provided by Ware Macomb and construction management overseen by JLL.
“J.C. Anderson was a key asset to the ReaderLink expansion,” said Craig Benecke, senior project manager for JLL, overseeing the construction. “Their quality of work, responsiveness to the client’s need and teamwork mentality is everything you want in a GC. There is a reason I look to engage J.C. Anderson on any project I can, and this project was another reminder of why. Kayla McKinney and Bill Dennison were exactly the people needed for this project and a big reason it was a success.”
