Jeffrey Raday President McShane Construction Company Rosemont, Ill.
Thanks to the leadership of its president, Jeffrey Raday, Rosemont, Ill.-based McShane Construction Company has grown to become one of the country’s leading design/build construction firms.
Raday has modeled for his employees exactly what customer service means. He’s committed to making his clients happy, and he’ll work the long hours necessary to do so. He also delivers what he promises. In fact, he usually over-delivers.
This has lead to the kind of repeat business that helps a company thrive even in challenging markets.
Raday first entered the construction industry in 1978. He then joined McShane Construction Company in 1996, taking the presidency position in 1998.
During his time at McShane, Raday has made his mark in the Midwest construction industry. He has directly managed more than $2.3 billion worth of construction work since taking over the presidency of the firm. His duties include managing the operations of the firm’s headquarters office in suburban Chicago and its regional offices in Auburn, Ala.; Phoenix; and Irvine, Calif.
Raday has especially focused on growing the multi-family arm of McShane Construction Company. This has led to McShane ranking in 2012 as the sixth-largest third-party multi-family contractor in the United States.
As one nominator said about Raday, “His strategic leadership and guidance allows McShane Construction to weather economic cycles and pursue opportunities within growth markets and geographical locations.”
Raday’s success has led to several important honors. His alma matter, Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Ind., recently awarded him the Alumni Achievement Award, an honor that celebrates those graduates who have notched significant achievements in their careers or professional lives.
The Design Build Institute of America in 1997 also presented Raday with the Leadership Award. And in 2009, Raday was named to serve on the board of directors for the Builders Association. He also serves as the treasurer of the Chicago chapter of this organization.
