Jim Planey, SIOR and founding principal of Lee & Associates of IL was awarded the 2014 Richard G. Levy Presidents award in December. The Chicago Chapter of the Society of Industrial & Office Realtors (SIOR) presents this award to who they feel exemplifies outstanding achievements both in and out of the commercial real estate industry. Richard G. Levy was a highly-revered leader within the real estate community who typified the elements of professionalism, business acumen and strong personal and business ethics that represent the goals of each Chicago Chapter SIOR member.
Jim Planey has been in the real estate industry for over 40 years and was one of the founding members of the Lee & Associates of Illinois office in 2002; the 21st office opened. Lee & Associates now has 52 offices nationwide and is one of the largest broker owned firms in the nation. During those 40 years, Jim has mentored many brokers into the field of real estate.
When Jim Planey isn’t working the real estate industry; he is travelling to one of the “Natural Wonders of the World” with his son, Donald or is actively involved in the Union League Boys and Girls Club Foundation. He is also a sponsor for scholarships awarded to working students at Northern Illinois University.
Jim is married to his wife, Rita and has two sons and a daughter.
