Just more than a year after a fire and explosion destroyed JJ’s Restaurant in Kansas City, operator Jimmy Frantze has announced plans to rebuild.
At an April 23 press conference with Kansas City major Sly James, Frantze shared his plans for a new JJ’s Restaurant in the Plaza Vista, a more than 250,000-square-foot building at 900 W. 48th St. in Kansas city.
“This has been a long time coming,” said Frantze in a written statement. “Plaza Vista was the perfect choice for us, and allows our regulars to have a home again.”
With assistance from Kansas City’s VanTrust Real Estate, the Plaza Vista building developer, JJ’s plans to open in its new location in the late summer.
