JLL awarded Bear Construction the contract to complete the Amenities Center project at 231 S. LaSalle Street, Chicago. Special thanks to all the team members consisting of: JLL’s Vice President Greg O’Neal, Asst. GM Kelsey Wills, and Building Engineers Joe O’Rourke and Allen Alic; Telos Group’s Brian Whiting, Jamie Dix, and Jack O’Brien; Wright Heerema Architects’ Roger Heerema, Laura Operti, Michelle Tsoumas, and Cary Chandler; ESD’s Robert Wage and Tony Garcia; Perry & Associates’ Christopher Perry; and Bear Construction’s Sr. PM Nick Minella, Asst. PM Ryan Prendergast, and Superintendent Mike Reda.
The project included three major components including the outdoor roof deck, tenant lounge, and fitness center. Within these individual areas came unique construction challenges as wide-ranging as two separate helicopter drops of HVAC components, a two-story internal exit stairwell, four restrooms, two locker rooms, a kitchenette, an outdoor fireplace, and an outdoor bar area. The project was a great success for all involved and is an exceptional feature for the building and its’ tenants.
