For the 23rd consecutive year, The John Buck Company (JBC) invites real estate and business community friends to attend the annual Spring Fling benefit on Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm at 330 N. Wabash Avenue’s plaza along the Chicago River. Spring Fling has raised over $10 million to help Chicago-area non-profit organizations since it was first launched.
JBC extends an open invitation to everyone to celebrate this annual event and to provide support to The 2011 Spring Fling’s primary beneficiary is Urban Students Empowered, a three-year college persistence program that identifies and trains highly effective teachers to lead underperforming high school students in low-income communities to successfully enroll in and graduate from college. To date, 99 percent of US Empowered students have been accepted into four-year colleges, and 83 percent are currently pursuing their college degree. During the 2010-2011 school year, US Empowered is serving nearly 550 students in 15 high-need Chicago high schools, and next year, with your help, the organization aims to serve more than 1,000 students in communities across the city.
This year’s festivities will be held at 330 N. Wabash and will feature great music by Liquidated Damages, food, drinks, Spring Bling prize raffle, and the Big Draw cash raffle with a grand prize of $25,000. The event boasts a lineup of popular restaurants including: Carts of Chicago, Chicago Cut Steak House, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Guckenheimer, Harry Caray’s, Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab, Le Colonial, Nick’s Fish Market, Purple Pig, Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion, Smith & Wollensky, and the Wit Hotel.
