John Viggers President, NAI Global Asset Management Services Regional Vice President, NAI Ruhl & Ruhl Commercial Company West Des Moines, Iowa
John Viggers began his career as the manager at a community bank. He liked the work. And he did a good job. But something was missing: Viggers always had a passion for commercial real estate and for the deal-making it required to succeed in this field.
Flash ahead 20 years. Today, Viggers is an important professional in the commercial real estate arena. He holds two key positions with brokerage network NAI: He is vice president of West Des Moines, Iowa-based NAI Ruhl & Ruhl Commercial Company and president of NAI Global Asset Management Services.
Along the way, Viggers has managed the operations and brokerage of several hundred properties across the country. He’s sold and managed high-rise office buildings, busy shopping malls and strip centers, industrial spaces, flex spaces, medical office buildings, luxury condominiums and multi-family properties.
He’s also shown the leadership skills that have allowed NAI to trust him with two key roles with the network. Viggers’ success formula is a simple one. But it works: He’s always believed that to build a better real estate company core and serve clients properly, brokerage and management must work together.
This is something that Viggers teaches today, in both of his NAI roles
Vigger’s success at NAI Ruhl & Ruhl Commercial hasn’t come as a shock to anyone who has followed this industry veteran’s career. Before making the move to NAI, Vigger built a substantial third-party management portfolio for CB Richard Ellis/Hubbell Co. He then took his talents to NAI, where he founded and built the asset management operations for NAI Ruhl & Ruhl Commerial Co. in central Iowa. He later launched the asset management services initiative for NAI Global.
Along the way, Viggers has earned praise from the real estate pros with whom he’s worked.
“I would recommend John as property manager to any owner of a distressed property without reservation or qualification,” said Alex Gill, senior associate with Trimont Real Estate Advisors. “In four years of working on major commercial properties, I have never encountered a property manager more dedicated to improving a property’s performance. John’s work ethic is noticed and appreciated by tenants and landlords alike. “
