Johnstone Supply has executed a full building lease for Dayton Street Partners’ newly constructed distribution center located at 4150 N. Knox in Chicago’s Irving Park neighborhood. The wholesale distributor of leading brand HVAC equipment and supplies will use its new space as a showroom and distribution hub.

Matt Cowie, Larry Goldwasser, Colin Green and John Marks of Cushman & Wakefield represented Dayton Street in the transaction. Johnstone was represented by Colliers International Chicago’s Brendan Green.

Access to Chicago’s dense urban population continues to drive the site selection process for companies such as Johnstone. Portland, Oregon-based Johnstone currently has multiple locations throughout Illinois.

“We are thrilled to welcome Johnstone to our development,” said Dayton Street managing principal, Howard Wedren. “Knox offers excellent access to Chicago’s dense north side neighborhoods, expressways and public transportation.”

Dayton Street Partners completed construction on the 41,000-square-foot warehouse/distribution center in late 2017. The modern facility features 30-foot clear ceiling height, six docks, four drive-in doors and T8 lighting. The building is located just one block from I-90, CTA’s L stop and the Metra, and provides parking for 55 vehicles. The Chicago-based logistics real estate investment and development firm purchased the 1.6-acre vacant parcel in 2015.
