JRI Interior Design in Lincolnshire, IL designed the recently completed first floor Gathering Room at The Admiral at the Lake in Chicago, IL.
The large multifunctional space will allow residents and staff to gather for presentations & performances, training, entertainment and dancing. It includes a dance floor, stage, and seating for 120, as well as elegant toilet rooms, coat storage and the most current audio and visual technology.
The challenge was to create a space indicative of The Admiral at the Lake’s new identity and blend with the interiors of the adjacent corridors and lobby. Utilizing the color of blue, reminiscent of their logo, complimented with gold and burgundy the large space is vibrant with color.
Patterned carpet and varying ceiling materials and heights helps to break up the large room. Soft window treatments dress up the room as well as help add acoustics and softness to the tall windows. Decorative wall sconces coupled with fluorescent overhead lighting allow users the freedom to set the mood for the gathering. Dark rich wood floor and arm chairs add warmth and richness. Now the families, residents, staff and surrounding community have a place to gather that is pure Chicago.
