Kadean Construction recently closed on the purchase of the 5,250-square-foot building it has been leasing since January of 2018 at 1821 McGee in the Kansas City, Missouri, Crossroads district.
Kadean plans to immediately start renovations to finish out about 2,700 square feet of existing shell space into new office space. This will give the full-service commercial general contractor about 4,000 square feet of office space, allowing for planned growth of its Kansas City operations.
Headquartered in St. Louis, Kadean has been active in the Kansas City market since 2015.
Kadean has been steadily growing its presence in Kansas City since 2015, having completed more than 1 million square feet of industrial distribution space in the KCI Intermodal Business Centre with an additional 890,000 square feet currently under contract. Kadean has various other Kansas City projects underway, including multiple ambulatory surgery centers, an R&D Laboratory and a manufacturing facility expansion.
The architectural drawings have been submitted and approved by the City of Kansas City for building permit and bid by various subcontractor partners. The company plans to begin select demolition work by Nov. 1, with the goal of fully occupying the space in January 2020.
