St. Louis-based Kadean Construction has opened an office in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. The office, which opened earlier this month in the Crossroads Art District at 1821 McGee St., will be led by vice president Roy Boyd, a long-time resident and veteran construction professional in the greater Kansas City area.
Boyd will be responsible for Kadean’s business development and operations throughout Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas. He joins Kadean project manager Josh Moore, who has been managing the company’s construction work in the Kansas City region for nearly three years.
While Kadean has constructed medical, commercial, senior care, multi-family and industrial facilities around the country, this marks its first office outside St. Louis, where Kadean has been based since 1963.
Kadean’s most recent Kansas City-area projects include construction of LogisticsCentre II, III and IV at the KCI Intermodal BusinessCentre near Kansas City International Airport. These warehouse/distribution facilities range in size from 202,800 to 432,640-square feet. Kadean also recently completed the interior build-out of LogisticsCentre IV for St. Joseph, Missouri-based BMS Logistics.
Before joining Kadean, Boyd, a Marine Corps veteran, served as chief operating officer for Swift Construction, Inc and CEI Electrical Mechanical.
Boyd began his construction career in 1998 with JNL Construction and has been a part of many developments in the Kansas City area during the last 20 years. They include the KCI Airport Renovation, Western Auto Building renovation (Lofts), multiple new hotel developments, “big box” retail projects, multi-family development projects and nursing facilities throughout the KC region.
