Kansas City-based Block Real Estate Services‘ employees recently joined in the fight against multiple sclerosis by creating a weekly fund-raising event in the month of March. By doing so they raised $592 that was matched by the company’s leadership team, Ken Block, managing principal; Stephen Block, principal; Michael Block, principal; Harry Drake, executive vice president and chief operating officer; and Vince Johnson, chief financial officer.
Block Real Estate Services kicked off its fund-raising drive with the March Madness NCAA bracket pool in which employees could purchase up to five bracket, with the top three winners receiving Plaza gift cards donated by Block Real Estate Services.
The following week, BRES enjoyed a free food day at Noodles and Co. on the Plaza. Noodles and Co. donated all of the food so BRES employees’ donations went directly to the MS Society. The employees also had a day during which they could donate money to wear jeans and grab a slice of pizza with a donation to the MS Society.
To say thank you for all of their efforts, the leadership team surprised its employees by matching their fundraising at the employee thank-you happy hour at Tom Fooleries on the Plaza.
