Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) recently honored Shawnee, Kan.-based Straub Construction Company, Inc.’s work on the Entertainment Properties Trust project in Kansas City, Mo.
This work earned Straub an Eagle Award in the Historical Restoration, $2 million to $10 million category of ABC’s Excellence in Construction Awards.
Straub Construction Company’s representatives received the award during the 21st annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebration at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Orlando, Fla.
“ABC congratulates Straub Construction Company for its exceptional work on the Properties Trust project,” said Michael Bellaman, ABC president and chief executive officer. “This project is an outstanding example of the innovation and commitment to superior craftsmanship that embody merit shop construction.”
Despite several client-initiated changes, Straub completed this $2.5 million design-build historical office restoration within a tight workspace and ahead of its aggressive 11-week time frame.
“This project demonstrates our capabilities and commitment to our customers’ success,” said Ernie Straub III, president of Straub Construction.
In February Straub Construction earned the “2010 General Contractor of the Year” award from its local ABC chapter.
