KDC and Oncor Electric Delivery Company, LLC hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the new distribution center at Midlothian’s Railport Business Park in Midlothian, Texas.

KDC broke ground on the nearly 422,000-square-foot, LEED-certified, build-to-suit industrial facility in December 2023. The facility sits on 60.7 acres in Midlothian, about 31 miles southwest of downtown Dallas. Oncor, Texas’ largest electricity transmission and distribution company, serves more than 13 million customers in the Lone Star State.

This 36-foot clear-height building features a cross-dock configuration with a significant amount of warehouse storage space along with interior offices, a break room, training rooms, lockers and restrooms.

Prior to breaking ground on the distribution center, KDC successfully worked with the city of Midlothian to rezone the site from agricultural to planned development, ensuring Midlothian’s character stays while adjusting the site to accommodate this new facility.

F.A. Peinado served as general contractor for the project, and Alliance Architects, Inc. was the architect.

KDC recently completed a new Gulf Coast hub for Volkswagen Group of America in Freeport, Texas. Other KDC projects in development include the Bank of America Tower at Parkside in Uptown Dallas; the new Wells Fargo office campus in Irving, Texas; and a JPMorgan Chase operations center in Ruston, Louisiana.
