Kubasiak, Fylstra, Thorpe & Rotunno P.C. has renewed its current lease on the 29th floor of Two First National Plaza, in the heart of Chicago’s central business district, for an additional 15 years.
KFTR will relocate temporarily to the sixth floor of the building while its existing space is completely renovated. Construction of the new offices has started, and KFTR expects to move back into its renovated space in early 2014.
“KFTR has a long and distinguished history in Chicago, and we are committed to the future,” said Gerald Kubasiak, the firm’s founding partner.
KFTR’s roots go back to its predecessor firm, founded in 1975. The firm in its current form recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.
“We are delighted that we have the chance to create brand-new space that will assist us in providing exemplary legal service to our clients,” Kubasiak said.
KFTR will continue to occupy approximately 13,000 square feet in the building, comprising the entire 29th floor. The space will feature a state-of-the-art floor plan incorporating the latest IT developments, including use of video conferencing and secure wireless and cloud applications, to promote cost-efficient collaboration with clients. The plan for the new space promotes environmental sustainability and drastically reduces the use of printed reference materials and paper client files.
“Our renovated space reflects our deep commitment to our clients and to the future,” said Steve Rotunno, another founding partner of KFTR. “We all look forward to the next 15 years together.”
John Ziesmer of Avison Young represented KFTR in the lease. M & J Wilkow Brokerage Services Corporation and The Telos Group LLC acted on behalf of Wil-Car Clark Street LLC, the landlord.
