Newmark Knight Frank Epic has announced that its industrial team completed the sale of the former Kinter Co. headquarters in Gurnee on behalf of a private investor. The deal comes less than six months after the team helped relocate Kinter’s new base of operations to Waukegan to accommodate its growth.
The 30,000-square-foot industrial building, located at 3982 Ryan Road in Gurnee, sold for an undisclosed sale price. The building was custom built in 2005 for Kinter and features almost 7,200 square feet of premium office space, 24-foot clear ceilings, two exterior docks and three drive-in doors.
Eirich Machines, an American subsidiary of a German company, bought the building, which is next door to its current operations. The company plans to convert the facility into a laboratory and/or testing facility.
“Interest in Class A industrial space in Lake County is insatiable as evidenced by this quick sale,” said Thomas Boyle, an industrial specialist with Newmark Knight Frank Epic who represented the seller. “It went on the market early this year and off the block several months later.”
Kinter Co. moved to its 84,000-square-foot new facility at 3333 Oak Grove Ave. in Waukegan early this year in order to substantially expand its operations. It bought the new headquarters for an undisclosed price. Boyle and Jared Paff, another industrial specialist with Newmark Knight Frank Epic, helped scout the prime location for the company.
