Kraus-Anderson has begun a $3.6 million renovation for Mounds View Public Schools at Chippewa Middle School at 5000 Hodgson Road in North Oaks, Minnesota.
Designed by Wold Architects and Engineers, the project features a 12,000-square-foot renovation and 2,000-square-foot addition with a new main office and breakout spaces.
Construction also includes replacing the metal panel on the building to give a fresh look. The administrative addition and renovation will allow for a secure entrance at the main entry. The new commons space also will give students a place to gather, study and wait for transportation.
The project is expected to be completed in early fall of 2020.
Chippewa Middle School is one of dozens of major K-12 construction projects Kraus-Anderson will work on this year during its “Summer Slam,” a critical, concentrated time during the summer months when school is not in session and when crews can perform work that ranges from new school construction to upgrades to deferred maintenance projects.
