Kraus-Anderson has begun an extensive $81.26 million expansion of the Burnsville City Hall and police department at 100 Civic Center Parkway in Burnsville, Minnesota.

The City of Burnsville’s facility will remain occupied and operational throughout construction, which is expected to be completed in spring of 2028.

The 35-year-old complex will add 110,000 square feet of space to better serve the city hall and police department, as well as the needs of Burnsville community for the next 30 years.  The expansion will also allow the police department to meet all training and tactical requirements on one campus, in one building, while providing more time to address growing public safety and mental health demands across the community.

Designed by CNH Architects, the two-story, 212,000-square-foot project features state-of-the art technology throughout the complex, a 120,483-square-foot addition, including an expanded city hall, police department, squad garage and gun range, and a 91,550-square-foot renovation of the existing spaces.  The complex occupies eight acres of land that will undergo civil construction and infrastructure enhancements.

Construction will be conducted in three phases:

Phase 1 – City Hall addition, including sitework and remodeling.

Phase 2 – Police department addition, including sitework and remodeling.

Phase 3 – City Hall remodel and sitework along Civic Center Parkway and the Ice Arena parking lot.
