Kraus-Anderson has begun phase two of Blake Road Station, now named The Hallon, at Excelsior Boulevard and Blake Road adjacent to the future Blake Road Metro Green Line Extension Transit Station in Hopkins, Minnesota.
Developed by Trilogy Real Estate Group and designed by ESG Architects, the substantial three-phase, mixed-use project redevelops 6.4 acres of land and will connect three residential buildings that will add about 770 new state-of-the-art market-rate units to the growing neighborhood.
The Hallon emphasizes an urban connection with natural landscapes and green spaces, adding deciduous trees, new sidewalks and boulevards, which will enhance the gateway to the City of Hopkins. Across from Cedar Lake Trail, the design features a public community space, which will include amenities for residents as well as pedestrians.
Phase one (Site A) includes a seven-story, 329,000-square-foot apartment building with 219 units, three parking levels with 256 stalls and retail space on the first level. The building’s upscale design features a main lobby and concierge desk, outdoor pool, spa, fitness center, golf simulator, bike shop, clubroom and speak-easy style lounge. Construction on phase one is expected to be completed in August of 2023.
Phase two (Site B) includes a seven-story building with 250 market-rate apartment units. The 398,822-square-foot mixed-use building also includes 10,000-square-feet of retail space and three levels of parking with 350 stalls. The building has a wellness lifestyle focus with amenities including an outdoor walking track, lawn fitness and yoga studios, sauna, plunge pool community garden, listening lounge and a café lounge. Phase two is expected to be completed in the summer of 2024.
A third phase is anticipated, however details are still pending.
