Lakeview Methodist Health Care Services in Fairmont, Minnesota, is constructing a new $24 million, 72-bed skilled nursing facility in Fairmont, Minnesota. Kraus-Anderson Construction is building the new facility, which was designed by Wold Architects.
For five decades, the campus has offered skilled nursing in the community and is one of only three in Martin County, the second oldest county in the state.
Located at 610 Summit Drive on Lakeview Methodist’s campus overlooking Budd and Sisseton Lakes, the new building will offer state-of-the-art amenities for more people. That’s needed now because by 2025, one of four Minnesota adults will be 65 or older and at least 70 percent are expected to use long-term care services at some point.
Built by Kraus-Anderson Construction and designed by Wold Architects, the new 2-story, 86,000 square-foot building is being created in the emerging care center design known as a “Neighborhood Concept,” which encourages companionship and sociability among residents. Lakeview Methodist will offer greater amenities for more people in a homelike, warm, person-centered environment designed to uplift the senses and improve mental, physical and social health.
Lakeview Methodist currently offers physical, speech and occupational therapy, spiritual care and worship services, social work services, transitional care, IV therapy and medication assistance, as well as an activities director for intergenerational social services, daily group and individual activities.
The new facility will feature wider hallways, a child daycare center, restaurant-quality dining room with chef-prepared meals, overnight guest room, community rooms, underground parking, gift shop, courtyard and gardens, outdoor decks and patios, and state-of-the-art monitoring and technology. Residents also will enjoy a movie theater, fitness center, beauty shop and barber services, café and laundry services.
