Kraus-Anderson has completed a new 44,729-square-foot fire station at 14275 Newton Ave. in Burnsville, Minnesota.
The $17.4 million fire station replaces existing Fire Station No. 1, addressing the city’s future fire and EMS needs.
Designed by CNH Architects, the two-floor fire station includes six apparatus bays, administrative space, living quarters and training areas and community spaces.
The new building features sustainable designs that can reduce the impact buildings have on the environment, reduce long term operating costs and create better working conditions. According to CNH, the building includes design features aimed at reducing firefighters’ occupation-related cancer risks and safeguarding their cardiac and mental health.
